Aug 14th - Outfit #15 - Dress Cheat

I can't believe it's been 15 outfits already - right about now in the month is when I feel like the "easy" outfits are done, and the more challenging ones start to appear. Like this one:
I'm quite pleased with how this turned out. This is my floral blouse (last seen here). It has such a nice shape, and I love the subtle ruffles down the V-neck and the loose bow. Being gifted in the boobular region, I have to be careful with ruffles (but I do love them).

That's not a skirt I'm wearing - did you guess? This is actually my pink linen dress (last worn here, 2nd outfit).
I know, pretty sneaky, eh? I'm also wearing my Chie Mihara ballet flats again (last worn here, and they are SO much more comfortable this time!), and a blue belt that I thrifted ages ago. The blouse has little bits of blue in the pattern, so it all goes together.

For bling, I'm wearing silver bird earrings and my silver filigree cuff that I bought at the gift shop in St. Paul's Cathedral in London.

Blouse (Esprit, consignment), dress (Ann Taylor, thrifted), shoes (Chie Mihara), belt (Landes, thrifted), earrings (Lavishy), cuff (St. Paul's Cathedral gift shop).

  1. That is such a pretty outfit -- delicate with a vintagey feel. And nice use of a dress as a skirt!

  2. Great layering! The dress also keeps you from needing a layering cami too. Plus it still shows off the best part of the dress, those fabulous pleats. Glad to hear the Chie Miharas are more comfy now. I'd hate to think such a cute (and expensive!) pair of kicks were painful.

  3. Hmmm, a blouse over a dress -- LOVE! How wonderful that your bracelet traveled all the way from London.

  4. Fifteen outfits already?! Say it isn't so! I've missed so much. First, your new ink is smokin'!! That looks like a REAL salamander on your back. You've definitely found a talented artist. Hope the pain is going, going, gone. I love the dress under the blouse. You say it will be 30 degrees here? Aaaaah! Quick, someone, get us some drinks with umbrellas in them!

  5. Fun! This just shows to go you that dresses can be just as versatile as separates. The blouse has a great floral print - not too twee or overpowering.

  9. Great layering! I need to think of that in terms of some of my maxi dresses. You look as lovely as you always do. You are just so stylish and I admire you so much.

  10. Thanks, Sheila, for giving us a way to wear our dresses more often - covered with a top and you are sure the gal is wearing a 'skirt'. Beautiful combination! Peg - UI
