Layer Up Week! Dress Over Pants

What? The weekend's over already? But what about Friday?

Yes, Friday had a theme: Dress or skirt over pants.
The return of the stairs!
This is my plaid dress that I've worn several times, with my skinny cropped jeans with my black walking boots. Pretty simple outfit.

I went to a couple of my usual thrift haunts that I hadn't been to in a while, on Saturday. I had some good shopping karma! Today, I finally went into my favourite consignment shop and took in my Manolo Blahniks - I got $100 for them in trade-in! Sweet!

L was off to Vancouver to hang with friends and watch football playoffs, so I enjoyed a weekend to myself.
Cat and Karen came over on Saturday night and we ate yummy food and drank wine and had a lovely girly time. I wore this same outfit, only with black socks (and my leopard slippers).

It's been very stormy - windy and rainy - all weekend. The snow is all gone.
It's pretty chilly out there, though! Bundle up!

Dress (Kensie), jeans (Jackpot, swap from Caro), boots (Aldo, consignment).

  2. Your weekend sounds so fun - way to go, Sheila! You rock a dress-over-jeans, of course. Come over and post on Vis Monday if you get a chance : >

  3. I LOVE this. It doesn't even look like you're wearing a dress, it looks like a long tunic or something... I love how you've styled the whole look. Chic and awesome. Brava!

  4. That's pretty good, 100 for your Manolos doesn't make you feel that bad about letting them go.
I like your stairs pictures and for a moment thought that it was a little warmer - but then I scrolled down only to see you all bundled up :)
I love the tall boots and the sweater-dress.

  7. Perfect outfit for a weekend with friends. I love wearing a slightly shorter dress over skinnies for busy days.

Good deal on the Manolos. I hope you find some goodies to use the trade-in on. I've still got my Loubs that I wore only a couple of times last summer. I need to do something about that.

I got to wear the jacket you got me today! It was sunny and 60 degrees. I hope it cools back off for layers week, even though I am enjoying the warm.

  9. Sounds like a fun (and lucrative) weekend. I'm always sort of lost when my partner is away.

  10. I am so glad I'm not the only one that can say: "I enjoyed a lovely weekend alone" and still maintain a marriage. Phew!

I like when you do dresses over jeans... I have mixed feelings about it on me, oddly because I think I'm too short for it (despite being a couple inches taller than you!) Oh, body dismorphia strikes again.

  11. Megan, no, it's by Licence, a UK company, I believe. I picked it up on 1/2 price in a little boutique last year for about $14.00.

Cara, you have the perfect body type for the dress-over-pants look! You're so tall and you have really long legs. Give it a try!

  12. Simple, but SO CUTE. I love everything about this outfit. The plaid, the boots and the jeans, the outerwear. It all just works.
