Sapphire, Ruby and Turquoise - Three Days of Jewel Tones

Well, now, has it really been 3 whole days of outfits? Tempis fugit, my friends!

Sapphire Monday:
This is actually a repeat (except for the shoes) of an outfit I wore for a casual weekend outing (here). My company held a rooftop BBQ event on Monday night, and "summer casual" wear was permitted. Unfortunately, it's been raining for several days (it's July! Good gravy!), and we sat with water dripping down off the patio umbrellas eating our burgers. I skedaddled pretty quickly.

Vizzini liked the movement of my skirt: We've reversed our old feeding routine with the cats: instead of Othello eating at the dining room station and Inigo in the den, now Inigo gets to eat out there, and Vizzini gets locked in the den while I do my pictures. He would quite happily gobble down his own food and then eat all of Inigo's.

The stuff:
I liked how nicely the shoes went with this dress. Ah, matchy-matchy! My heart sings!

The jewels:
And a good shot of the silks that make up the dress. Aren't they pretty? I need to do some purples with this (mental note: need a purple cardigan).

Dress (Le Chateau, consignment), cardigan (Jessica, consignment), shoes (Feet First), ring (Aldo Accessories), earrings (Lavishy).

Goodbye, Ruby Tuesday, who could hang a name on you?
I adore this skirt (last seen here). The frigidity of the weather meant two sweaters on top (and I wore a coat!). This was a good oufit for trucking around my WW suitcase and for doing my evening meeting.

Vizzini helped:
He's so tiny!

This captures his little devilish face really well:
Aw, my heart just melts.

The stuff:
It was so gloomy out, all my pictures looked dark. *shakes her fist futilely at the grey sky*

My usual black bits:
My evening WW group - especially a couple of ladies - loves my outfits (I haven't told them about this blog) and likes to check me over when they arrive. This passed muster.

Cardigan (Vero Moda), top (Planet), skirt (MNG, consignment), shoes (Enzo Angiolini, thrifted), bracelet (Le Chateau), earrings (The Cobbler).

And Turquoise for Wednesday:
Vizzini's licking himself. I like how he sits on his haunches like a little kangaroo.

I've actually had this outfit planned since I bought these new shoes a few weeks ago ($15.00, bought for free with store credit). Score! Considering Farylrobin shoes are pretty darned expensive new (in the $200 range). These are a bit beat up (*ahem* I mean "broken in"), but for $15 I am not complaining. They were super comfy all day too!

I love khaki and turquoise together. It reminds me of the early 80s, when it was a big colour combo for me. I had a pair of khaki pants and a couple of turquoise t-shirts (one had a gold thread in it, I recall).

The outside shot returns!
Notice how I am wearing a sweater again? See how gloomy it still is?? When will summer arrive? All you people who are sweltering, please feel free to send some of your weather up to the Pacific Northwest/Vancouver area. I will send you rain and cool ocean breezes in return.

The stuff:
I love the turquoise with the cream and goldy-khaki accents on these shoes.

The pearls:
The pendant that Mom bought me in Australia - that's a cluster of real pearls that didn't actually separate to become round pearls. The earrings are just cheap junk, ha!

Sweater (Kersh), skirt (Club Monaco, consignment), shoes (Farylrobin, consignment), pendant (gift from Mom), earrings (Jacob).

  2. Ad, of course they are! If Vizzini had been a different personality, he would have been Fezzik.

  3. I can imagine how much your WW group enjoys your outfits! You really SHOULD invite them to your blog! They'd be doubly impressed and inspired!

The sapphire one is amazing - and perfect on you....

Wishing for just a little of the "cool & rain" you've been experiencing!

  7. Gorgeous!

Hey, I had a dream last week and you were in it. Your hair was just a tad longer and more scarlet, though. I can't remember the details, other than you looked great!

  8. I could pretend to compliment your clothes but that's not why I came here. I wanted to tell you how blown away I was at the raw honesty of your last comment. Wow. Wow.

I liked and admired you before, Sheila; now, I'm an even bigger fan. :)

  9. The other fashionista here (B)- love that silk dress! I saw you walking downtown while I was on the bus yesterday. You were wearing a yellow rain slicker.

    ONLY. IN. VICTORIA!!!!!

Let's all hope this October weather passes and we at least get to April weather next week.... Who knows, maybe by August we'll be experiencing what the rest of North America calls May.........

  10. Saphire Monday is my fave.
I actually just realized that dress is similar to a J.Jill skirt I wore a few days back ...

  12. I love that first dress. It's very sci-fi imo. And if it's sci-fi then the next skirt is very fantasy. It reminds me of autumnal days. Have you ever paired it with orange?

Vizzini is just the cutest. Your kitties are adorabuhls.

The Farylrobin sandals sound like a good deal. Don't think of them as worn, just well loved. ;D

    1. I love those blue shoes with that dress. Perfection!
    2. Red is my favorite color so the whole outfit sings my favorite tune. Plus - your little kitty is so darn cute!!
    3. Turquoise and khaki are so great together and I really like your wedges.
If I could mail you a portion of heat and humidity I would use FEDEX!! :)

  14. We had to separate dogs for feeding back when I had the aptly named Mr. Chubbs. As you can imagine, he was ready to eat everyone's food.

  15. Boy it's hard to pick a favorite with these, but there is just something about the sapphire outfit that is floaty and sweet that appeals to me. Which is neither of our styles, LOL, but it just works really well.

    Vizzini is too freakin' cute.

  16. Today is rainy AND hot in Minnesota. So that sucks. But you know what doesn't suck? Looking at your cute kitty pictures! SO FLUFFY! WANT.

  17. Rebecca, thank you! I'm not sure - I don't like to cross that line. I am sending rain your way!

    Jody, thank you!

    Patti, thanks!

    Sal, isn't he adorable??

Freeda, thank you. Ha! I am glad I looked good in your dream!

    Ally, thank you. *hug*

B, thank you! Ha, you caught me in my walking gear! I would really like to have some summer NOW!

    Lorena, thank you!

Terri, it feels wonderful - thanks!

Megan, really? I would not have called it that, but you're so right. Yes, I wore the striped shirt with an orange cardigan some time last year, I think.

Yvonne, ha, thank you for the detailed breakdown of your love. :) Please send warmth!

Wendy, that's hilarious. Both our kitties are little greedy-guts.

    Kristen, aw, thank you!

Erin, ha, I know, they *look* sweet, but Vizzini is a little devil.
