The Return of the Skinny Pants - and Not Quite Gold!

Following the advice of Kari, Hillary, Kristen, Sal, Lorena, Sherylyn, Audi and Chris, the last time I wore these pants, I am doing a less structured, long, tunic-style top and flats (well, my version of flats, kitten heels, haha) with them:
It was the perfect post-race outfit, and man, I am so glad I considered what I would wear today because I am SORE. I hobbled around like an old lady. Rebecca, that's why I wore low heels all last week!

I gave everything I had in the race yesterday - that was one of the toughest 10Ks I have ever done! I finished with a time of 1:13:51 (my second best time ever!), and that was walking, not running, for those of you who don't know that I race-walk.
Apparently, I came in 6th (edit: corrected) overall (out of the men and women) and second (edit: corrected) in my age category! Woo hoo! (edit: no, I did not get gold). I now have 2 silvers and a bronze in this race.
I'll get my medal in the next few days. In the meantime, I have the love of a kitty to see me through:
The stuff:
I went with the over-the-top bohemian accessories: a big cuff, bigass earrings and a big multi-chain necklace.

A close-up:
I love those earrings.

Today's Othello picture:
This is from last night, just hanging out. Every bit of time this week is special with him.

Cardigan (Express, consignment), silk top (Zara, consignment), pants (Kensie), shoes (Kenneth Cole Reaction, gift from Cat), earrings (Plum, gift from L), necklace (Plum), bracelet (The Bay).

  1. The asymmetrical tunic is definitely the way to style those pants. I love the key on the necklace, gorgeous!

    Congrats on your race!

Also much love to your precious kitties.

  2. Hi Sheila. Love your tunic with the pants.
Well done on the race! I'm sure it was worth the pain. When we lived in Vancouver we participated in the Terry Fox marathon. We didn't run, we walked. I still have the certificate.

  3. Congratulations! May all soreness be eliminated and the medals be displayed with pride! Seriously - be sure to show us your medals! I can't wait to see if you can incorporate them into an outfit.

  4. Oh lady, I missed the news about Othello. My heart absolutely goes out to you ... it hurts so much to think of losing a pet.

The tunic is smashing with the skinnies, so hopefully that - and your GOLD MEDAL - are some, smallish consolation.

  6. Great going on the race, Sheila! This tunic is wonderful, especially with the 'ciggy' pants. Really showcases your thin silhouette.

  7. Thanks, Megan! I was a lot happier with the pants this time around.

Thanks, Tanya. Unfortunately, my source was not reliable regarding the race. But that is awesome that you did the Terry Fox run/walk. Good job!

Thanks, Rebecca, I'm still sore today. No medals with my outfits! :)

Sal, thank you. Please give your kitties extra hugs for him this week. Thank you, but my information was not correct about the medals.

Thanks, Tina! However, it appears to have been silver instead.

    Thanks, LaShaune.

Lorena, you keep away from this top!

Thanks, Jean, although please see todays's correction. It feels so weird to have people call me thin, sometimes, but thank you!

  8. OMG, love love love LOVE!!!

The asymmetrical top is awesome. That and the skinny pants look comfortable and yet still so put-together and classy. So nice.

Hope you are feeling rested now!
