Lazy Monday - Dress and Cardi

I confess, I've been so exhausted by the renos that while my husband was out of town on Sunday, I went shopping! Muah ha haha! So I'll be featuring my new-to-me purchases in outfits over the next couple of weeks.

Today's new thing is the pink cardigan.
Yup, that's pink, my most-hated colour. To be fair, not all pink is bad, and this is one of the few shades of it I can wear.

I was so chuffed to get such a great bargain on this; it's 100% angora, and it still had the original price tags on it. Since it doesn't show any evidence of mark-downs (I'm very familiar with the Esprit store mark-down system), I conclude that someone got this for Christmas a couple of years ago. I remember this being in the store then.

Check this out: you can still see the original price:
That says $99.50. And what did I get it for? $27. Woot! Bargain!

The stuff:
I decided to play up the black and white with the pink and did my lovely Fluevogs. I wrapped the pearl necklace around my wrist to make a bracelet and wore my Betty Rubble bigass pearl studs.

Dress (Do & Be), cardigan (Esprit, consignment), belt (Nygard), shoes (Fluevog "Listen: Harlow"), necklace (late 80s, Eatons), earrings (Aldo Accessories).

  2. Pretty! I like pink on a redhead; my teenage admiration of Molly Ringwald has never quite faded, I guess. :)

  8. I agree with Kristin - the right shade of pink looks so lovely on redheads. And you have got it nailed here. I love the whole look, all the way down to the "I want to steal them" shoes.

  10. There is something very 50's-ish about the outfit...the polka dots, the cardi, the pearls...love it all! And I think that shade of pink looks lovely on you!

  13. Thanks, Hillary! No, mine, back off, lady. ;)

Kristen, thanks - of course I wanted to be Molly when I was a teenager.

    Thanks, Chris!

    Eednic, thank you!

Sal - I agree. My mom used to dress me in pink all the time when I was a kid and I just loathed it. Now...not so bad if it's the right shade.

Lorena, it's a magic name. If only saying it made more appear!

Thanks, Kaylyn. Yes, but they are amazingly awesome shoes.

I agree, Tina - I'm not a redhead (I just pretend to be one). Thanks so much!

    FashionAddict, thanks!

watergirl, you got it! I am just loving the 50s look right now. Thank you very much!

Alison, thanks! I've finally realized that I need a *little* pink in my wardrobe. The Fluevogs are awesome!

Sher, thanks! I'll be trotting them all out soon enough.
