Gloomy and Poochy

In a continuation of yesterday, still feeling blech...the weather's turned rainy, and my outfit displeased me today. I also went for a walk for a break from my desk and it rained, so please ignore the craptastic hair.
I had packed a red belt to wear with this, but it didn't look right once I got to work - it didn't sit right. I don't try my outfits on ahead of time; I just pull stuff that goes together and cross my fingers that it all looks okay once I get to work and get changed out of my walking clothes.

The wide band of the waist on this skirt made me feel poochy in the stomach all day (okay, Sal is seriously going to have issues with me, haha). It doesn't help that I gained a few pounds last week - for the second week in a row *sigh* - and have been very stressed out.

And I'm thinking that I might get rid of these shoes. They are a bit big...and they make my legs look stumpy. Much as I love them, yeah, I could give them up.

The stuff:
Pretty plain. I haven't been putting a lot of effort into my clothes this week - I guess I blew all my creativity on that weekend outfit!

In brighter news: The big Swap-O-Rama is tomorrow night! I'm so excited!

Shirt (Oxmo), skirt (Nygard, consignment), shoes (Jeffrey Campbell), necklace (don't recall), white gold hoop earrings.

  1. I don't see poochy or stumpy, personally. The print on the skirt is really, really cute. Please don't get rid of that!

  2. I love the colour and the material of your shoes. How can you feel down - even if its raining if you're wearing those.?

  3. First thing I said when I saw this outfit, LOVE the Shoes! But I totally understand, especially if they are big. I just got rid of a the cutest pair of flats because they were a bit big. So sad!

Love the outfit. That skirt is so cute, maybe some fun bright color on top next time will liven it up. You look great and very classy!

Hang in there, remember to eat healthy. You can take off those pesky pounds that found their way to you.

  4. ...Before I got a chance to read your blog, I thought those shoes were awesome! (teeheee..what size????)
The shoes made your outfit, and the fact you dont try your outfits on before hand, impress me! Wow...I am tooo fussy if I dont try on first.

  5. Oh hon, I won't get on your case! We all have downer days, and I've been having a helluva run of 'em myself. It's tough to feel good about your bod when your outfit isn't doing what you want it to. For what it's worth, I think you look smashing, as always. And DON'T give up on those wonderful shoes!

  6. Aw, don't get discouraged! Just keep at it...eat healthy, stay active and focus on all the great things your body is capable of doing. And just my 2 cents, I don't think you look stumpy or poochy at all.

  8. Thanks, Kari. I've just been feeling down so I focus on the negative. No, I love the skirt, it's a keeper!

Thanks, Jane - they are just a tad too big. I know...it was just a conspiracy of events.

Aw, thank you, Alison! I'll hang on to them a bit longer (at least into fall). I do love the skirt, but you're right, a bit of colour on top would be good. Thanks for the good cheer.

Erin, thank you! Size 10, I think. I usually wear a 9 to 9.5 (Euro size 40 is perfect), but sometimes I fit an 8.5, depending on the brand.

Sal, I know, but you're like my conscience sitting there. :) Thank you so much for your support.

watergirl, you are so right. I just need to stay on track and keep my focus.

    GingerSnap, thanks, and welcome.

  9. I don't see poochy, I see sexy 60s "wiggle" but I have to agree about the shoes. I think if you wore them with a shorter skirt that you wouldn't have that issue. Glad to see that you are going to hold on to them for a little longer.

  10. Thanks, Tina. I agree that a shorter skirt would help...I'm also going to keep my eye out for something similar in my actual size!
