Dressed Wrong for the Weather!

So, I got this gorgeous skirt two weekends ago, and I've been patiently biding my time to wear it. The skirt has tiers and is lovely and swirly. Very Stevie Nicks.

Today, it was overcast and chilly in the morning, so I thought I'd be safe with a nice jacket.
Of course, it cleared up and got hot and sunny, and here I am in my dark colours and velvet. *sigh* I took the above picture with the flash so that some of the detail (like the dark purple jacket, haha) might actually show up.

I felt good in the outfit and I wasn't sweaty or anything, just felt like I had too much covered up. Oh well, I like all the colours and the look, even if it's not really summer. Just call me the Queen of the Wrong Season!

At least the stuff is cool:
I love red and purple together!

I wore the square brooch at the small of my back (I tried taking a photo, but I kept looking like a linebacker, so use your imagination).
My lovely Myka jewelry from L.

Jacket (Jacob), skirt (Club Monaco, consignment), shoes (Fluevog, gift from L), earrings & necklace (Myka "Aura", gift from L), pin (don't remember).

  1. I don't know if you "do" awards because you don't have any listed. Anyway, I've given you one over at my place.

  3. Yes that velvet would look so pretty in the fall ;)

  4. Oooh, I hate it when that happens! I usually underdress and am freezing, but overdressing is deeply annoying, too.

Love your creative brooch placement ... gotta try that out.

  5. Love the brooch and necklace...and your jacket makes me seriously wish I lived in a climate that permitted the wearing of materials like velvet more than 1 month a year!

  6. Sher, it always seems like I never wear all the velvets when the weather is cold! It's this contrary streak in me, I guess.

Sal, I only had a cami on under it, so I wasn't too hot, but I couldn't take the jacket off because of that either. Silly me.

Hi, and welcome, watergirl! You must live somewhere warm (see my powers of deductive reasoning? haha). I love velvet!
